Built on Symbonic Creator Cloud™
AGBO: one system for the slate.
Symbonic built a custom creative and development system for AGBO, an artist-led independent film and television studio, on Symbonic Creator Cloud™, built to run development slates across film, television and AGBO's universes. It brought Creative, Development, Business Affairs and the executives onto one record. The engagement has ended.
What AGBO ran on before.
- Scripts lived in email, kept locally, with no protocols, and were forwarded to a Creative email alias.
- Weekend Read submissions were logged in a Monday.com board.
- Drafts and script revisions went out on separate email threads.
- Film, TV and universe development notes lived in separate Microsoft Office documents.
- There was no process for project-specific materials.
- Option agreements and their deadlines weren't tracked, and nothing flagged an option before it lapsed.
What Symbonic built.
Workspaces mapped to the slate
Ten workspaces, one for each of AGBO's universes, plus five more for potential universes, event film, event TV, potential event film and unscripted work.
Typed projects
Nine project types: Universe Film, Universe TV, Universe Audio, Universe Game, Universe Animated TV, Universe NFT, Event TV, Event Film and Unscripted.
A folder template per project
Original materials, pre-greenlight memo, bible, pitch pages, pitch deck, one-pager, treatment, outline, and writer's, producer's and production drafts, each with notes, plus lists, pitches and contacts.
Naming enforced by the system
On upload, the system applied AGBO's naming standard (project, folder type, version, date) whatever the file was called, kept the original filename as metadata, and renamed the file when a user corrected the draft date or version. No one was relied on to follow it.
Permissions by role
Admin, Executive, Supervising Exec, Creative Gatekeeper, EA and Project Exec roles, scoped per workspace and per project, down to each file: no access, view only, no download, or full access.
Deal tracking for Business Affairs
Business Affairs held deal status above every universe and project. Project users could see it and request a writer's deal or an option. Option agreements sent alerts at six months, three months and one month, then weekly.
What changed.
AGBO consolidated its development information into one standardized system. Four functions that had worked from separate email threads, a Monday.com board and Office documents ran on one record: Creative, Development, Business Affairs, and the executives running the front end of the business.
The work was infrastructure under a creative organization: where every draft lives, who can see it, what it's called, and which deals and options are coming due.
The same technology, now.
Creator Cloud™ was built, shipped and run in market from 2021 to 2026. It now goes into two kinds of work.
For media and entertainment companies: an Innovation Studio installed, or Creator Cloud, IP-Lock and IP Companions licensed to run inside your own platform. See the offerings →
For creator companies: the IP Growth System, the engine that grows the business around its content and audience. See the IP Growth System →
Questions
What did Symbonic build for AGBO?
A custom creative and development system for AGBO, an artist-led independent film and television studio, built on Symbonic Creator Cloud™ to run development slates across film, television and AGBO's universes: workspaces mapped to the slate, nine typed projects, a folder template per project, naming enforced on upload, role-based permissions down to each file, and deal tracking with option-expiry alerts for Business Affairs.
What problem did it solve?
AGBO's development information was spread across email threads, a Creative email alias, a Monday.com board and separate Office documents, with no single place where scripts lived, no process for project materials, and no tracking of option agreements. The system consolidated it into one standardized record that connected Creative, Development, Business Affairs and the executives running the front end of the business.
Is AGBO a current Symbonic client?
No. The engagement has ended. Symbonic describes it in the past tense.

Can Symbonic build something similar for us?
Symbonic builds on the same technology for media and entertainment companies (as an Innovation Studio installed, or by licensing Creator Cloud, IP-Lock and IP Companions) and for creator companies (the IP Growth System).
